FORMER Great Britain Paralympic fencing athlete Adrian Derbyshire visited the Children’s Ward, Neonatal, Children’s A&E & Outpatients wards as Santa to hand deliver presents to children who were spending their Christmas in hospital.
Adrian handed out presents donated by Warrington Disability Partnership, and two special gifts for staff in the Children’s and Neonatal wards which were Starbucks Machines donated by local business Gladstone Brookes.
Staff at Golden Square Starbucks got involved by donating bags of coffee for the cause to which staff were overjoyed.
Adrian, who is a Trustee at WDP, said: “Christmas is a very special time of year but for those who are in hospital, it can be very traumatic not only for the patients but for their families to. Handing out presents as Father Christmas and seeing sick children and their families smile at a very difficult time is something I will never forget.”
