SUPER Sub Ash Ruane (pictured top) spared Warrington’s blushes with a last gasp winner

as title chasing Warrington Town won 2-1 at bottom of the league Ossett

Albion.
Ciaran Kilheeney gave Warrington the lead mid way through the first half with the Ossett keeper in fine form to keep the scoreline to just 0-1 at the break, saving well from Scott Metcalfe and point blank from a Kilheeney header.
With skipper David Mannix and central defender Jay McCarten both missing

through injury and defender Richard Annan, an on loan signing from

Stockport Sports, making his debut, the home side, with just two wins all season, looked dangerous on the break and had a strong penalty appeal turned down.
Just before the break Aaron Bowen saw an effort cleared off the line, while Ossett rasped one just past the post.
At the start of the second half Town keeper Josh Ollerenshaw saved well as the home side looked to get back into the game.
Warrington then had a strong penalty appeal turned down as Carlos Meakin was pulled in the box after a good through ball from Metcalfe.
With the game opening up end to end the home side eventually drew level when Thompson mis-kicked a clearance allowing Ben Grech-Brooksbank to fire home making it 1-1 on 67 minutes.
Sensing a rare victory the home side stepped up the pressure with Ollerenshaw again saving well.
With time running out manager Shaun Reid brought Dawson off for Ruane.
Ossett broke and almost scored and then deep in injury time Meakin crossed, Wharton hit the post and Ruane tapped in much to the delight of the travelling fans as Warrington stole all three points.

Town: Ollerenshaw, Annan, Thompson, Guest, McKenna, Robinson (c) Dawson, Meakin, Bowen, Kilheeney, Metcalfe. Subs: Davies, Ruane, Wharton, Gahgan, Newby.
