Garage helps women learn more about cars

A WARRINGTON garage opened their doors to 30 women wanting to learn more about the basics about running their cars.
This was the first in a series of two-hour training sessions to teach women about the general rules of car maintenance, arranged by garage owner, Raf Khan from Warrington Service Centre .
Raf said: “We have started these motoring courses to help female motorists feel more comfortable about carrying out regular vehicle checks at home. Many women travel long distances for work and this course is designed to help them understand what they can be doing in between services to maintain their cars.”
Tracey Smith, aged 32, who attended the first course, said: “Before I attended this event I felt uneasy about dealing with mechanics as I didn’t always understand the rationale related to the expensive vehicle maintenance work, as I knew very little about car servicing and repairs.
This course has been perfect for me, I’ve learnt a great deal and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be taught the basics of car maintenance and repair in an informal, friendly environment.”
Due to the level of interest and success of the event, the next event will be open to both ladies and gentlemen. The date of the next educational session has been set and will take place on Wednesday 22 January 2014 at 6.30pm at Warrington Service Centre, 74 Church Street, Warrington, WA1 2TF. Booking is essential for this event and interested parties can reserve their place by visiting www.wscladiesnightjan14.eventbrite.com
