Man escapes from gang of four

A MAN escaped virtually unharmed after four thugs attempted to rob him at Warrington.
The 24-year-old suffered only a minor injury to his face in a brief struggle with one of the offenders.
The incident was in the early hours of October 20 in Liverpool Road, Great Sankey, near the Woodlands public house.
Police are today appealing for witnesses of the attack, some time btween 2.30am and 3.20am.
The victim was walking along Liverpool Road when he was approached by four men – two on foot and two on bicycles.
They demanded his mobile ‘phone and his wallet but he refused and ran off.
The men on bicycles pursued him and one got off his bike and squared up to him.
There was a brief struggle – but the victim managed to escape.
PC Mark Williams said: “Thankfully nothing was stolen and the victim managed to escape to safety, but he was left with a minor injury to his face.
“Officers have been following a number of lines of enquiry and would urge anyone with information to contact police to help find those responsible.”
