CIVIC leaders and armed forces chiefs attended the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment annual service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving at Warrington.
It was the 75th anniversary of the dedication of Warrington’s 1914-18 war memorial for the South Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales’ Volunteers).
The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Peter Carey was joined by Mayors and council chairmen from across the North West.
Service veterans from across the region were present at the service at St Elphin’s Parish Church.
The service was followed by a march-pass along Church Street, led by the Regimental Band.
Afterwards, the Mayor and Brigadier P Rafferty hosted a reception at the Town Hall when the Brigadier read a letter of greetings from their Colonel in Chief – the Queen.
