WITH rock legends AC/DC on a hiatus from touring, fans wanting to experience the rock n roll juggernaut that is AC/DC in concert could not do much better than checking out Live/Wire.
Undoubtedly the UK’s premier AC/DC tribute, Live/Wire offer a unique six-man salute to one of last great stadium rock bands.
The two hour show complete with trademark cannons and a wall of Marshall’s kicks off with “riff raff” and for the next hour the band run through some of the prime cuts of the Bon Scott era. Front man Jon has got the moves and vocals of the original singer down to a tee.
The rhythm section keep meticulous time whilst the bands very own Angus Young, Ash struts and duck walks with all the energy of the original. Classics such as “Dirty Deeds” “Sin City” and “Highway to Hell” follow before the band seamlessly segue into “Hells Bells” and second vocalist of the evening, Pete takes over singing duties as current front man, the flat cap-wearing Geordie ‘Brian Johnson.’ Later day classics such as “Heatseeker” and “Thunderstruck” keep the crowd happy before the tremendous finale when both singers belt out “Let there be Rock”. A great night of vintage rock.
Seventies rock fans are well catered for at the Parr Hall and Pyramid, forthcoming shows include Sad Cafe, Rock Anthems, Steve Harley and Limehouse Lizzy. Visit www.pyramidparrhall.com for full details.
