Tough test for Town

WARRINGTON Town have organised a pre-season “international” friendly away at newly promoted Colwyn Bay the week before the new season kicks off.
Bay won promotion to the Unibond Premier in the play-offs and will be the perfect test for Joey Dunn’s men who secured a memorable 2-3 victory over their North Wales rivals last season, with the game taking place on Saturday August 14, just seven days from the big kick off.
Pre-season training starts on July 1 with a number of high profile games lined up before the start of the season, which will also see Warrington defending the Peace Cup against Crewe United from Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Saturday July 31, kick off 3pm.
Prior to that Town will entertain AFC Liverpool on Saturday, July 17, kick off 3pm followed by a local derby against Moore United away at the Tetley Walker club ground on Long Lane on July 22.
Other confirmed friendlies for Town are at home to F.A Cup Giant killers Northwich Victoria on Tuesday, August 3 followed by Marine on Tuesday August 10, kick off 7.45pm.
Meanwhile work is going on behind the scenes to provide Warrington’s Cantilever Park with a new Vice Presidents’/sponsors lounge, a new snack bar/kitchen facility and a new all weather community sports pitch.
Supporters have until the end of June to purchase their early bird season tickets, proced at £100 for adults, £80 for concessions and £20 for juniors.
Admission will remain free for all under 12s.
