Play off hopes suffer major set back

WARRINGTON Town’s play off hopes suffered a major set back as they went down 4-2 at Curzon Ashton as they finished the game with 10 men after Lee Parle saw red for a second bookable offence.
Manager Shaun Reid drafted in two new signings, Blackburn Rovers Academy keeper Karl Noon as cover for Andy Robertson, while striker Karl Noon was given a debut after joining from Marine.
Warrington got off to a terrible start as Curzon took the lead after just five minutes as Simon Woodford headed home unchallenged from a corner.
Woodford struck again on 24 minutes when Warrington were again caught out from another corner. Then on 38 minutes the game was as good as over when the prolific Kristian Dennis outpaced the Town cover to make it 3-0 before the break.
To their credit Warrington never gave up and pulled a goal back through substitute Ash Ruane on 62 minutes. But when Parle saw red a few minutes later it put paid to any come back.
A wonder strike from Curzon’s Scott Metcalfe on 77 minutes made it 4-1 with David Mannix grabbing a late consolation for the Wire as he lobbed the keeper from 35 yards from a free kick.
