Woody not Wigan bound

WARRINGTON Wolves’ boss Tony Smith has said there is no truth in reports linking popular forward Paul Wood with a move to his home town and arch rivals Wigan Warriors.

Wood, who missed out on last weekend’s home opener against Castleford and featured as a dual code signing at Swinton, has been named in the 19 man squad for the trip to the DW Stadium on Friday evening.
Smith has dismissed various reports linking Wood with a move to Wigan, saying the player had been linked with a move to his home town club on numerous times in the past.
“Woody is a Warrington player under contract until at least the end of this season,” said Smith.
A full video interview with Smith will follow later today.
Warrington’s last visit to Wigan saw them come away with a 22-20 victory and they backed this up with a 30-10 win at home later in the season.
