Harmony in the Corridors of Power!

DURING a trip down to the corridors of power at the House of Commons and Number 10 Downing Street I was given a fascinating insight into the day to day running of the country.
Thanks to Warrington South MP David Mowat I received a personal invitation to a reception with the Prime Minister for a meeting of local Editors at No 10.
During the day I spent some time shadowing our MP and also spent time in the public gallery in The House of Commons witnessing proceedings first hand.
Putting politics to one side the history of the place is amazing and I was also fortunate enough to see a Warrington issue raised in the house, concerning the case of the young mum campaigning for the DNA of her dead soldier partner to be released, to prove he was the father of their child – followed by the breaking news from the Chancellor George Osborne regarding the appointment of the new Governor of the Bank of England, Canadian Mark Carney – a move welcomed by Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls.
Earlier I had seen our local MP meeting with members of the opposition to discuss ways of tackling the looming pension problems.
It was certainly refreshing to see representatives from all parties working together for the good of the country.
Maybe those politicians a little closer to home can take note!
Back home in Warrington we have to endure members of the same political party falling out with each other!
