Town denied by the woodwork!

WARRINGTON Town held league leaders Mossley to a creditable goaless draw at the Abacus Solicitors’ Community Stadium as they were denied victory by the woodwork on three occasions.
After a close first half where the visitors had the best of the chances with an effort of their own deflected onto the post, it was Warrington who had the better of the second half, twice hitting the post and a thunderbolt from Phil Doran hitting the cross bar 10 minutes from time.
With Mossley still unbeaten on the road this season and 18 points ahead of Town in the league table, there was little to choose between the two sides in an entertaining game considering the wet conditions.
New signing Lee Parle, made his debut after signing from local rivals Skelmersdale United and had a solid performance in midfield.
The two teams go head to head again on Tuesday evening at Mossley in the Doodson Sports League Cup, kick off 7.45pm.

Team: Robertson, Davies, Doran, Dogan (c) Flynn, McCarten, Collins, Parle (Mooney 88), Beesley (Miles 75), Ruane (Townson 80), Reid.
Subs: Mooney, Gratton, Townson, Miles, Graham.
