NEW signing Allan Collins (pictured above) had a fairytale return to Warrington Town as he helped inspire a 7-2 victory over second bottom Goole with super sub Phil Mooney weighing in with a second half hat-trick.
Town were dealt an early scare after keeper Andy Robertson made an error that allowed Goole’s Callum Russell to give the visitors an unlikely 25th minute lead against the run of play.
An insipred substitution by manager Shaun Reid saw Liam Shipton replaced by Luke Holden who scored from the penalty spot in the 44th minute after the lively Collins had been brought down in the box.
Phil Mooney came off the bench in the 59th minute for Steve Porter and then Warrington came out all guns blazing as Collins scored on 65 minutes.
Ten minutes later, defender James McCarten got in on the act heading home to make it 3-1 much to the delight of the home fans.
Mooney made it 4-1 on 78 minutes before Bill Law pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 82nd minute following some sloppy defending.
Mooney got his second and Town’s fifth on the 85th minutes before making it a hat-trick one minute later.
There was still time for Collins to get his second of the game as it finished 7-2 to the home side.
