Bridgefoot works start tonight!

WORK is set to start on Bridgefoot tonight following Warrington council’s U-turn over controversial new road markings.
Senior councillors held talks with officers over the amendments to the road markings on the Wilson Patten Street/Bridge Foot approach to the Bridge Foot roundabout after the issue was highlighted by warrington-worldwide, following numerous complaints by irate motorists.
These works are confirmed to take place over two consecutive nights, starting tonight, Monday October 1 and tomorrow, Tuesday, October 2 between the hours of 7pm and 6am.
Drivers are asked to look out for the temporary signage in the area and be extra vigilant to the changes in the layout, particularly on Tuesday as they will be only partly complete.
The amendments will result in the three lanes at the Wilson Patten Street/Bridgefoot entry having the following designations:
Lane 1 (short lane near the Lower Bridge Street) – A49N (A57)
Lane 2 – Retail Park and A5061 (Knutsford Road)
Lane 3 – A49(S) Wilderspool Causeway & A5060 Chester Road.

The council apologises for any inconvenience caused.

  1. why not think out of the box for a change?

spend some money and keep the traffic flowing by using Midland Way, Mersey Street and Wilson Pattern as a ONE WAY CIRCULAR ROUTE. Install a flyover at the Cockhedge roundabout so traffic from the Midland Way keeps flowing down to Mersey Street. ALright some peopel might have further to travel to get to their place of work etc – but more lanes would be open to traffic to keep all moving.
