THOUSANDS of Warrington Wolves fans turned out to welcome their heroes
home after successfully lifting the Challenge Cup for the third time in
four years.
Starting off at Orford Park the Wolves paraded the historic cup, which they won convincingly, defeating Leeds Rhinos 35-18 at Wembley, from an open top bus.
From Orford Park the bus called in at the Halliwell Jones, before travelling through the town centre to the town hall, where the team was welcoimed by the town’s Mayor Cllr Steve Wright, for a special civic reception.
After addressing a sea of primrose and blue on the town hall lawn, the players and their families enjoyed a civic reception in the town hall and an official photo call.
Club Chairman Steven Broomhead said next stop would be Old Trafford for the Grand Final.
