WARRINGTON’S OLYMPIC water polo star Hazel Musgrove has presented children from the Water Polo Academy with special mini-polo awards.
The presentation took place at Great Sankey Leisure Centre, where the youngsters train.
Hazel, from Appleton, will be competing with the Great Britain women’s water polo team in the London Olympics and will help make history after being named in the first women’s team to represent GB in the Olympics.
Keith Maddock, area leisure manager, said: “We are honoured that Hazel was able to take time away from training to attend the presentation at Great Sankey Leisure Centre to inspire the young athletes.
“We will all be looking out for her at the Olympics and wish the water polo team every success.”
Great Sankey Leisure Centre is now part of LiveWire, new provider for leisure, library and lifestyle services in Warrington.
