A PLAN to restore a former nursery to horticultural use near Warrington has been given the go-ahead, despite strong objections.
The scheme - submitted by Lymm Road Properties Ltd - involves the former Caddicks Clematis Nursery, in Lymm Road, Thelwall.
Objections were received from nearby property owners and by Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council.
But the borough council's planning committee decided to approve the proposals after hearing from officers that they could result in a viable nursery business being re-established on the site.
Proposals include removing a brick building, erection of a tractor store and workshop and retention of a timber cabin for use as offices and toilets
The committee heard the whole nine acre site was at risk of flooding, according to the Environment Agency. But it was not considered the proposals would result in any increased risk.
