POLICE are appealing for information after a 17-year-old boy was indecently assaulted at Warrington.
The incident took place in an alleyway behind the new Catholic church, in Knutsford Road.
The boy had been in Victoria Park and walked along Knutsford Road and down the alleyway directly behind the church.
A man, aged about 30, cycled up to him, started a conversation and then indecently assaulted him before turning round a cycling away in the direction from which he had come.
The incident was on Thursday, May 3, between 4-6pm.
PC Lianne Isherwood said: "The victim was not injured as a result of the incident but he was left shaken by his ordeal.
"We are currently carrying out a number of enquiries in relation to this incident and are appealing to the local community to help us trace whoever is responsible.
"We are urging anyone who witnessed what happened - or was in the area at the time and has seen the man fleeing the scene - to contact us.
"Patrols have been stepped up in the area to actively target whoever is responsible and to reassure the local community. We are urging people to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to us immediately."
The man was wearing a white Nike baseball cap with a silver logo on the front, a light blue jogging top, black shiny tracksuit bottoms and black Nike trainers. He was riding a blue mountain bike.
