WARRINGTON residents wanting to challenge wills, trusts or inheritance rights now have their own legal champion
based in the town centre.
Jennifer McGuinness, an experienced litigation lawyer with solicitors Forshaws Davies Ridgway (FDR) has been admitted to the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), following a part-time three year College of Law course.
This means she is the only solicitor in Warrington with this higher level qualification available to represent clients in trust and probate disputes.
She joins FDR partner Stephen Lawson, who is based in the firm's Frodsham office, in providing this specialist service.
ACTAPS lists only 500 qualified solicitors working nationally in this field, with fewer than a dozen based in the North West.
Jennifer said: "When people come to us with these sorts of disputes, it can be very upsetting, because normally something has gone wrong. Our job is to help clients iron out problems and where necessary, fight battles on their behalf."
Both Jennifer and Stephen work in conjunction with FDR colleagues in the probate department to provide a comprehensive public service on inheritance, wills, trusts and probate.Pictured: Jennifer McGuinness and Stephen Lawson.
