Arsonist strikes at flats

POLICE are investigating after an arsonist attempted to start a fire in a block of flats at Warrington during the night.
The blaze was in a communal area of the flats at Gladstone Mews, Gladstone Street, off Bewsey Road.
A quantity of rubbish was set alight, filling the building with smoke.
Fire crews were quickly on the scene but found the fire had burned itself out.
