Cyclist injured in road crash

A PEDAL cyclist was injured in a road crash at Warrington early this morning.
The incident was on the A49, Winwick Road, near to the Toby Carvery pub, shortly before 7.45am.
The pedal cyclist, a 22-year-old local man, was in collision with a Volkswagen Golf car, driven by a man.
An ambulance crew took the man to Warrington Hospital where he was found to have a back injury. The car driver was not hurt.
Winwick Road remained open and there were only minor hold-ups for commuters during the morning rush hour, according to police.
Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101.
