POLICE at Warrington are appealing for information after a 14-year-old boy suffered a broken jaw in a street attack.
The teenager was attacked as he walked along Whitbarrow Road, Lymm in the evening on Friday, February 3.
He was walking with a friend at around 7pm and when they reached the junction with the Trans Pennine trail they were approached by three people - one woman and two men.
There was a brief conversation and then one of the men, who had covered his face with a balaclava, punched the victim in the face.
DC Rob Horton, who is investigating the incident, said: "This was a nasty assault, which resulted in a teenage boy being seriously injured. We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or was in the area around the time of the incident and might have seen anything significant to contact us immediately.
"Anyone with any information, which might assist with our enquiries, is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline, on 0800 555 111."
