THREE children were taken to hospital at Warrington this morning after a double-decker bus collided with a low bridge.
Two were released after treatment for minor injuries.
But the third requiried specialist treatment to an ear injury.
Initial reports said there were no injuries arising from the crash at the junction of Cliff Lane and Weaste Lane, Grappenhall. But later it was revealed that the three children had been hurt.
About 11 pupils from Lymm High School were on the top deck of the bus.
The roof of the vehicle was ripped off by the force of the collision.
It is thought the bus - on a regular scheduled service - had taken a wrong turning on the route to the school.
A spokesman for Warrington Borough Transport said: "Our first thoughts are with the families of those involved."
