Charity stalwarts receive New Year honours

THREE charity stalwarts from Warrington have each been awarded an MBE in the New Year honours including well known MENCAP campaigner Dorothy Pritchard.
Dorothy from Padgate, who is pictured with members of her MENCAP group at Disability Awareness Day, received her award For services to People with Intellectual Disabilities in Warrington, Cheshire
Meanwhile Mrs Hilary Thomson who has helped co-ordinate the Fair 4 All stall on Warrington Market was honoured For voluntary service to Fairtrade, Warrington, Cheshire.
Former police officer Christopher Upham, BEM, well know for his charitable work in the local community with groups like Warrington Lions and a volunteer with the National Association of Retired Police Officers, Cheshire Constabulary, was honoured for services to the Police. (Warrington, Cheshire). More recently he has been actively involved in Help for Heroes.
A fourth Warrington person, Jefferson Welsby, a Physical Education Senior Officer at HM Prison Kennet, also received an MBE for services to the Ministry of Justice. (Warrington, Cheshire)
