FIRE crews are tackling a major fire involving a disused pub near Warringtron.
The blaze was discovered at the Railway pub, in Mill Lane, Lymm at about 2am today.
Five fire appliances, from Stockton Heath, Warrington and Knutsford are involved in the operation.
Extensive damage is believed to have been caused to the building.
The Railway - once famous as the home of a thriving folk music club - has been closed for about four years, despite attempts to find a tenant.
It was once noted for its real ales.
But in recent years the structural condition of the building has suffered through standing unused.
Fire crews are still at the scene.
