MORE than 50 guests and nominees were present at the annual Warrington Sports Awards ceremony, which recognises the excellence of local athletes, volunteers and clubs and the dedication and motivation of all the nominees.
There were guest appearances by two of Warrington's sporting stars, hurdler Abi Fitzpatrick and wheelchair fencer Adrian Derbyshire, who have both represented Great Britain and were both winners in last year's awards.
Leader of Warrington Borough Council, Cllr Terry O'Neill, said: "The annual sports awards is always a fantastic event and I was delighted to be there to see Warrington's sporting heroes get the recognition they deserve. I'd like to congratulate all the nominees and winners and wish them every success in the future."
