PLANS for a Warrington South Credit Union have moved a step closer following a volunteer recruitment campaign.
Cllr Tudor Pole (pictured) told Stockton Heath Parish Council that a working party had been set up following two information days in Latchford.
He said an application was being made to the Financial Services Authority to extend the existing Westy Credit Union into South Warrington.
"We cannot move until we get Financial Services Authority approval," he said.
"The new group is looking at things such as business plans etc - the credit union is coming."
The new branch is mainly to serve people in Stockton Heath and Appleton.

For clarification, it is Latchford EAST. Latchford WEST is amalgamated with Fairfield and Howley Credit Union. (FHL)
