A WARRINGTON councillor learned about the problems of overgrown footpaths the hard way.
Cllr the Rev Steve Parish, who represents the Bewsey and Whitecross ward, was asked by residents to arrange for overgrown bushes to be cleared away from a foot bridge in Sankey Valley Park.
Cllr Parish wanted "before and after" pictures of the scene, so backed into the bushes and got stung by nettles!
After the work had been completed he went back to see the transformation.
He said: "It's an important pedestrian route and I'll try and make sure the bushes are cut back earlier next time. Once stung...."
