LONDON Olympics hopeful, cyclist Dani King, officially opened a new £153,000 fitness suite at Knutsford Leisure Centre.
The former Southampton schoolgirl, who picked up a gold medal in the Great Britain women’s pursuit team earlier this year, cut the ribbon and chatted with guests and customers as they experienced the new facility.
The suite has undergone a £153,000 refurbishment and has been fitted with all the latest equipment.
It aims to improve access to health and fitness facilities to the whole of the local community including all age groups and abilities. It also aims to attract those who would not normally use a traditional gym.
Cll Rod Menlove, Cheshire East Council’s cabinet member for environmental services, said: “The new fitness suite is an excellent facility and everyone at the opening was hugely impressed.
“Our investment in the new fitness suite shows our commitment to encouraging as many people as possible to stay fit and healthy across Cheshire East.”
Knutsford Mayor Cllr Stewart Gardiner added: “I would encourage people to come and use this facility.”
