Wolves crush Crusaders

WARRINGTON Wolves moved back up to second in the Super League table with a convincing 46-12 victory over Crusaders.
But Warrington were given an early wake up call by the recently based Wrexham outfit who led 6-12 after 15 minutes before the Wolves went on the rampage scoring 40 unaswered points.
Mark Bryant opened the scoring for the visitors after just five minutes making the most of some sloppy defending with Michael Wilt adding the extras.
Warrington were soon back on level terms after good work by Monaghan saw Ryan Atkins send Matt King over.
Chris Bridge filling in with the goal kicking duties in the absence of the injured Lee Briers added the conversion.
But the Welsh outfit hit back as hooker Lincoln Withers pounced on a grubber kick with Wilt again on target.
But that was the last the Crusaders could offer on the score sheet as Warrington moved up a gear despite the absence of half-back Richie Myler, who picked up a foot injury in the week and full-back Richie Mathers who suffered a groin injury at Huddersfield.
A Simon Grix try converted by Bridge levelled the scores and then King shot through the Crusader’s defence and under the sticks to give Bridge an easy conversion to put Warrington in front for the first time at 18-12.
It was then nearly all one way traffic with Ben Westwood going over just before half-time with Bridge again adding the extras to make it 24-12 at the break.
Westwood went over for his second try early in the second half as Bridge was again on target.
Further tries from Michael Monaghan, Chris Hicks and David Solomona, with Bridge only failing to convert Monaghan’s effort, landing seven from eight conversions, completed the scoring.
