MEMBERS of Lymm Concert Band can be forgiven for feeling a little "brassed off" - because they are suffering a shortage of brass players.
The band, which performs several concerts a year in and around the Lymm area, is looking to recruit new players - particularly trumpet, trombone, French Horn and tuba.
They also have a desperate need for a percussionist.
The band, established more than 20 years ago, plays annually at Lymm Festival, Lymm Dickensian Festival and the Arley Hall Garden Festival. They rehearse every Thursday evening at Lymm United Reformed Church from 8pm-10pm
Ideally, the band's line-up consists Piccollo, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Alto/Tenor/Baritone Saxophones, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Tuba and Percussion - tuned and untuned.
It performs a varied repertoire ranging from classic concert band pieces to
music from stage and screen.
Players of all ages and standards are encouraged.
The band rehearse on a Thursday evening, 8pm - 10pm at the Lymm United Reformed Church, Brookfield Road, under the baton of their musical director and principal conductor Darren C Wood.
Anyone interested in joining or requiring further information can visit the website www.lymmconcertband.co.uk or contact the musical director on 07884 436270 or email admin@lymmconcertband.co.uk
