UPDATED: ALL lanes on the M62 near Warrington are now open following repairs after a lorry fire on Friday morning.
The M62 was closed westbound between J7 Rainhill Widnes and J6 M57 due to the lorry fire. Traffic on the east carriageway was also stopped for a time.
The HGV fire happened at 10:04 on Friday 11 August. The accident caused extensive damage, and emergency repairs need to be taken out.
Drivers travelling northbound on the M62 were diverted off at junction 7.
The closures were essential to complete the repairs and ensure the safety of road users.
Drivers are reminded to plan their journeys, allow extra time for travelling and check traffic conditions before setting off.
