Police launch appeal after young girl touched on bus

POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following an incident when a young girl was inappropriately touched on a Warrington bus.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Sunday, May 6, when the victim, a 15-year-old girl, was sat on the number 27 bus travelling from Warrington Bus Station to Gorse Covert, when she was touched inappropriately over her clothing by a man sitting behind her.

After the incident the girl moved seats to get away from him.

Cheshire Police are investigating the incident and officers are appealing for anyone with any information about it to come forward.

Police Constable Lee Ferris said: “If you recognise the man in the CCTV image or think that you may know who he is please contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 58303, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“I would also like to appeal to the man in the CCTV image directly to get in touch.”
