Disused church to make way for apartments

0

PLANS to demolish a disused church in Warrington town centre and build 18 apartments on the site have been given the go-ahead by borough planning chiefs.
The redundant Baptist church at the junction of Sankey Street and Arpley Street would make way for assisted living apartments, with an administrative office and car parking for 14 vehicles.
Although of a relatively modern design, the church is not considered to have any architectural merit.
Assisted living is where someone requires their own home but also needs support from a care provided to help them to live as independently as possibly.
The occupants of the properties will mainly be individuals with mental health issues and learning difficulties.
Access to the site will be from Dixon Street.
