POLICE have issued an image of a man they would like to speak to after a pensioner’s wallet was stolen at a builders warehouse in Warrington.

The wallet was stolen at approximately 2.30pm on Monday, May 7 when the victim, a 78-year-old man from St Helens, was in Selco Builders Warehouse on Warner Lane, Warrington.

The wallet, which was of sentimental value to the victim, contained cards, licences and approximately £120 in cash.

PC Rob Catterall said: “This was a callous act in which a 78-year-old animal rescue co-founder has had his wallet taken when his back was turned.

“Enquires in relation to this incident are ongoing and as part of my investigation I’m keen to speak to the man featured in the CCTV image as I believe that he may hold vital information in relation to the investigation.

“I urge the man, or anyone who recognises him, to contact the team here at Warrington on 101 so we can progress with our investigation.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the incidents, or anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 57345. Information can also be passed anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
