Man charged after estate agent staff threatened with knife

A 51-year-old man has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place following an incident at an estate agents on Orford Lane, Warrington yesterday.

Police were called to the premises at 9.53am yesterday (Tuesday) following reports of a man threatening staff with a knife.

Officers attended the scene and subsequently used a Taser to arrest a man on suspicion of Affray.

Gary Gatehouse, 51, has since been charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

Gatehouse, of Colin Street, Warrington, was remanded in police custody and was due to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court later today, Wednesday 9 May.
