Matty Russell wings his way to Toronto Wolfpack

WARRINGTON Wolves have confirmed that winger Matty Russell has left the club with immediate effect having signed for Championship side Toronto Wolfpack.

Scottish international Russell, 24, made his Warrington debut in 2014 having signed from NRL side the Gold Coast Titans. He holds heritage number 1111 and has made 97 appearances, crossing for 31 tries.

Russell’s opportunities became limited following the signing of Josh Charnley.

He joins a number of other former Warrington players in the squad including Gary Wheeler, Joe Westerman, James Laithwaite and Ashton Sims.

The club’s are due to meet in the next round of the Challenge Cup.

All at Warrington wish Matty well on his move and thank him for his contributions during his time at the club.
