Volunteers needed for Peel Hall litter pick

CAMPAIGNERS are rolling their sleeves up in Warrington this Saturday in an effort to ‘spruce up’ the Peel Hall area before a Government planning appeal.

Save Peel Hall Campaigner Jon Parr who is organising the event said: “We care about where we live and we want to give the Peel Hall area a cleanup. It’s used by residents of all ages. Spring is a good time of year to tackle this and especially so during the run up to the appeal as we know there will be several visits made by the Inspector.”

The appeal, lodged by Satnam Millennium Ltd, is attempting to get approval for controversial plans to build 1,200 homes on Peel Hall Land.

Jon urged residents to join the litter pick. He added: “It’s a family event for all ages to join in and we hope they can all help in tidying up the area and have a bit of fun at the same time. The kids will get a certificate at the end and a little gift as a thank you for taking part.’

The Government Planning Inspectorate hearing starts on Monday April 23 at 1pm at Orford Jubilee Hub when Warrington Borough Council will be defending its decision to refuse Satnam’s application for outline planning permission.

  1. Great work organising this, Jon. I’ll be there, hope to see lots of neighbours there too – should actually be fun, as well as a really useful sprucing-up session
