THE A50 Knutsford Road at Grappenhall, Warrington, was closed this morning after a collision involving a car and a van.
An air ambulance and firefighters were called to the scene and it is believed one of the drivers involved has sustained serious injuries.
The collision occurred shortly before 9.30am and police are advising motorists to avoid the area as the road is likely to be closed for some time.
The closure affects the A50 between its junction with the M6 at Lymm and Stockport Road Grappenhall.
