Car left devastated after arson attack

POLICE are investigating after arsonists struck at Warrington in the early hours of today and left a car devastated by fire.
Fire crews were called to Broadbent Avenue, Westy shortly before 3.30am to find a car on the road well alight.
One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus use a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze and colleagues then damped down the area for safety. They were at the scene for more than an hour.
Police went to the scene and are seeking witnesses. Anyone who can help is asked to call 101.
Earlier, fire crews from Birchwood went to Silver Lane, Risley to a fire on the disused landfill site there.
Two piles of cables were found ablaze and a hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames. Firefighters were at the scene for around 25 minutes
