Man arrested after alleged racial abuse at station

A MAN was arrested at Warrington Central Station on allegations of racially abusing a member of staff, police said today.
The alleged offender also threatened a bystander.
After being arrested he was handed over to British Transport Police, who are dealing with the matter.
In another incident, a man was arrested at the Premier Inn Hotel, Manchester Road, Warrington on allegations of burglary, disorderly behaviour, drunk in charge of a motor vehicle, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
This followed allegations that he had helped himself to lager from behind the bar and become verbally abusive to staff when confronted about this.
One officer was said to have been assaulted during attempts to arrest the man and other officers attended to help.
