WARRINGTON Borough Council is offering help to local residents who want to sign up for the Green Bin collection service for garden waste.
Anyone who requires assistance with applying for a green waste licence can visit council officers who will be available to help on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Any residents with any questions about the service – or who want to take advantage of the online discount – will be able to get help.
The council team will be armed with i-pads and will take you through the process to make sure you get your green bin emptied when collections start again on March 6.
They will be available at:
• Monday 26th February – The Forge Shopping Centre, Stockton Heath (10am to 2pm)
• Tuesday 27th February – Warrington Market, Town Centre (10am to 2pm)

More than 20,000 local residents have already signed up for the service.

Getting desperate by the sounds of it? The final line of the story should read “only 20,000 people have signed up to the service compared to 39,552 last year”. Even accounting for a rise when people start gardening and mowing next month, it will be less than 15,000 next year and fall year on year, mark my words.
