Public’s views wanted on plan to improve traffic flow

TOWN Hall bosses at Warrington wants the public’s views on a plan to improve traffic flow in the west of the borough.
Consultation has started on a scheme to improve the junction of Liverpool Road and Lingley Green Avenue.
Currently, the junction experiences congestion at peak hours which has knock-on effects on the local road network. Without improvements, congestion is expected to worsen as traffic growth in the area continues.
The proposed improvements include localised widening of Liverpool Road (eastbound) and Lingley Green Ave (southbound).
The council will hold public exhibitions to explain the proposals, with officers on hand to answer any questions. They’ll be held on the following days: Thursday March 1 – 11am to 2pm: The Food Hall, Lingley Mere Business Park; Friday March 2 – 4pm to 8pm: Main Hall, Tim Parry Community Centre, Cromdale Way; Saturday March 3 – 10am to 1pm: Main Hall, Tim Parry Community Centre
The expected start of construction is yet to be confirmed but is planned to be completed by spring 2020. The consultation period runs until March 16.

  1. Work has already started on a proposed housing development in or very near Lingley Mere Business Park. Trees have been felled and excavators are at work there. Is this public consultation for real? Or will it be like the others, with the emphasis on the first syllable of the word?
