Church Street closed following collision

FIRECREWS used hydraulic cutting equipment to free a motorist trapped in an overturned car which resulted in Church Street, Warrington, being closed.

Two crews, one from Bichwood and one from Warrington were called to a one vehicle road traffic collision at 15.36 where a car was on its side and a casualty was trapped.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to extract the casualty from the vehicle, who was then handed into the care of paramedics. Crews were at the scene for an hour.

The road is now re-opened.
