Three arrested after police cars rammed at Appleton

THREE people have been arrested after two police cars were rammed at Appleton following an incident during the early hours of this morning.

The police helicopter was called out to assist following the incident on Lumb Brook Road at around 5am this morning.

Police said that during initial attempts to stop the vehicle it is alleged that two police cars were rammed and a pursuit followed. One male was arrested on Dale Lane and a Taser was used to effect his arrest.

The other male has made off but was later traced in the Stretton area as a passenger in a car being driven by a female.

As a result a 33-year-old Warrington man has been arrested on suspicion of police assault and theft of a motor vehicle.

A 29-year-old Warrington man was later arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified,  dangerous driving, no insurance and refusing a breath test and drugs wipe.

Meanwhile a 26-year-old woman from Manchester has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The police helicopter was called in after the driver of the car, which rammed two police vehicles at Lumb Brook, Appleton, fled the scene.

All three suspects are currently in custody helping police with their investigation.

  1. After seeing a couple idiot police bullying a homeless person, i couldnt care less for this corrupt organisation anymore! You only have to look at the warrington police twitter account to see what a bunch of fiols they are with pathetic jokes and clips from the simpsons cartoons to get their messages across! Bunch of idiots in my opinion! And anyone who thinks we need the police ate SNOWFLAKES!
