POLICE at Warrington today issued an appeal for witnesses of an assault which took place shortly before Christmas.
A 41-year-old was attacked at around 11pm on Friday, December 22 at the junction of the A49 and Orford Lane, Warrington, near The Wire pub.
He was left with serious injuries, including a broken ankle, and was taken to Warrington Hospital.
He was subsequently discharged.
Detectives are asking anyone who witnesses the attack or has any information about it to contact them on 101, quoting incident 1115 of December 22.
