High winds topple heavy lorry near Warrington

HIGH winds toppled a heavy goods vehicle on the A50 access roundabout to the Lymm Service Area on the M6 near Warrington this morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and police controlled traffic.
Details of injuries are not yet known – but police and the Met Office were continuing to issue warnings of high winds for the rest of today as Storm Eleanor hit the Warrington area.
The Environment Agency were also warning of possible flooding at Arpley Bridge and in the Victoria Park area of Warrington around 12 noon to 1pm.
Police said a tree had been blown down on the A574 Birchwood Way at Longbarn and urged motorists to drive carefully.
