IF you have put “getting fitter” on your New Year’s resolution list then there is no better place to start than Warrington’s Victoria Park on New year’s day.
Park Run Race Directors – Huw, Cal and Tony are even giving people an extra hour in bed by holding the start time back from the usual 9am to a one off special time of 10am.
They have recently signed up an enthusiastic Tail Walker to make sure that whatever your ability they will shadow the slowest runner or walker depending on their pace. Lots of enthusiastic volunteers will cheer you on your way around the course.
Volunteer steward former Mayor Geoff Settle said: “Whatever your ability please give it a try and after every event you will receive details of your time a few hours later by email to measure your progress week by week. You can also be a volunteer and cheer runners on or record their times.
“There are so many events throughout the country every Saturday at 9am you can usually take part wherever your travels take you.”
