ANTI-bullying campaigner Adrian Derbyshire showed the true spirt of Christmas during his sixth annual visit to Warrington Hospital to deliver gifts to patients and staff.
Adrian, who tragically lost his sixteen-year-old daughter Julia just over two ago, spent Christmas Day visiting staff and patients at the hospital, where his daughter died in October 2015, after five days on a life support machine.
Julia took her own life after being a victim of online bullying.
During his visit Adrian also presented gifts of coffee making machines to staff as he visited patients of all ages throughout the day. Coffee was donated by Starbucks in Golden Square and Southport.
Santa delivered gifts to the Children’s Ward and the Neonatal ward, helped by his Elf Lucinda.
Adrian said: “I just can’t tell you how much I LOVE WHHNHS ICU Staff. The Love and Support they showed my Julia, myself and family in the final week we were there is such a credit to Warrington .
He added: “Julia played such a HUGE role in inspiring others and giving back to the community. More of our youth should be following in her footsteps to give back.”
Adrian, a former disabled Great Britain sword fencer, had already launched his anti-bullying crusade prior to his daughter’s tragic death. He now campaigns on in her memory talking to thousands of young people across the country with his #SASSY campaign – Support Against Self-Harm & Suicide in Youth.
