A LEADING body for physical activity and sport in Warrington and Cheshire has moved into a new home.

Award winning charity Active Cheshire has move into Wyvern House in Winsford from where it will continue to focus on tackling inactivity and improving health and wellbeing in Cheshire and Warrington region.

Their dynamic approach has already helped 71,969 individuals become more active more often this year.

Physical inactivity has been identified as the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality and Cheshire and Warrington face an increasing challenge as approximately 22 per cent of people living in the region are classed as inactive. These figures are becoming a cause for concern, as approximately 188,000 adults living in the area struggle to undertake at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a week.

Active Cheshire is all about integrating physical activity into everyday lifestyle. With the current environment and commitments, many find it difficult to dedicate time to completing physical activity, without appreciating the consequences that lack of physical activity carries. This is why Active Cheshire is all about embedding physical activity into all aspects of everyday life.

Chief executive officer Anne Boyd said: “We are thrilled to be moving into the Wyvern House in Winsford, and we hope that we will continue to positively drive levels of activity regionally.

“We see ourselves as a dynamic organisation and currently work with a wide spectrum of partners and stakeholders. By moving to Winsford, we hope to continue expanding our partner network, who are determined to get Cheshire and surrounding areas active”.
