Get set for Winter as snow forecast for weekend

A Yellow weather warning, including the possibility of snow, has been issued by the Met Office for Friday and Saturday across a wide area including Warrington.

The weather warning comes on the back of Storm Caroline which is predicted to bring gusts of 60-70mph in Scotland and as it moves away from the UK later on Thursday and through Friday bringing colder air from the Arctic.

On Friday and Saturday, the snow showers could lead to snow accumulations which vary markedly across the warning area.

Strong northwest winds may cause drifting of the snow in places with blizzard conditions possible across northern Scotland.

The weekend weather forecast for Warrington is windy and bitterly cold with scattered snow showers on Friday and Saturday, but also plenty of fine and sunny weather.

It is forecast to be cloudier on Sunday with rain, sleet and snow arriving later.
